What we know...

• The revision of the FAFSA has made it simpler for families to complete, but the rollout has had its share of issues, including a delayed timeline.
• Colleges and universities, including Westmont, won't receive the results of families' FAFSAs until sometime in March.

What it means...

• You can expect to receive a complete and accurate financial aid estimate shortly after FAFSAs are released to colleges. Although this may delay families' decision process regarding college, Westmont is committed to giving you accurate information and time to make a sound decision. No one will have to commit to Westmont without a full financial picture.
• Patience remains a virtue. This is a frustrating set of circumstances for everyone involved. Our goal is to serve students and families well, whatever the situation, but it may take longer to do so this year than is typical. 

What you can do...

• If you're a California student, you may be eligible for the Cal Grant through submitting a FAFSA. The deadline to submit a FAFSA and qualify for Cal Grant has been moved back to April 2nd.
• Complete your FAFSA online at studentaid.gov. Add Westmont College to your FAFSA and use your FSA ID to sign your FAFSA. Filing a FAFSA now ensures that you receive a financial aid estimate at the earliest possible moment.
• Make sure we have your Social Security number on file to link your admission application to your FAFSA. Call 805-565-6200 to speak with your counselor. Do not send your Social Security number over email.
• Once we receive financial aid data, we will begin by providing financial aid for our current students, followed by students who have already confirmed their place at Westmont. Confirm your place at Westmont today to receive priority financial aid attention!
